Customer Review :
Great LCD TV - Much better price at Sams Club
We've only had this TV for a day, and we don't have our High Definition Cable service yet, but the picture is still really good. My husband says it will be even better when we get HD channels (our new service is on the way).
The colors are great and I love the fact that there is no glare on the picture. We were going to get another TV with a few more features, but the picture had such a glare on it, we changed our minds.
I will say though for anyone buying this TV at this price - think twice - we honestly only paid $748 for this exact TV at Samsclub. We just got it today, August 25th, 2010, so I think this price on Amazon is horrible - more than twice what we paid.
The TV is very stylish and easy to set up too. If you decide on this one, and buy it somewhere cheaper, I think you'll love it.

Questions & Answers
Question : How to hook up satellite receiver, Panasonic surround sound to a samsung lcd tv?
So the surround sounds works when we are playing dvds but it won't work when we are watching our satellite tv. I don't know the right terms for the cables or anything so if you could dumb down the cords to like colour of cords! That would be great! Or if someone has a diagram that would be helpful that would be great too! None of the instructions in the manuals are helpful!!!
Answer:
you need to go from the audio right(red) and left(white) OUTPUT from the back of your DVD Player to an available set of audio right & left INPUTS on the back of your home theater receiver. the yellow jack (video) goes from the TV box to one of yellow inputs on the back of your TV. than use the remote to select/change the input on your receiver to the find the input you are currently utilizing. and you will get the audio out of your speakers. don't be worried if it only comes out of two speakers. the TV signal might only be in stereo, not surround sound like DVDs.

Question : Is there any way of connecting a Playstation 2 to a Samsung LCD TV via HDMI?
And if so, would the picture quality increase? Also can you suggest the best way to connect a playstation 2 to a LCD tv giving the best picture possible!
Answer:
About the best you can do with the PS2 is 480p (enhanced defenition) via a component cable (red, green ,blue) and at the same time the game itself must support 480p, God of war 2 for example. You will get a pretty good picture this way.

Question : Any one buy the Samsung LCD tv with 120 mhz?
I'm looking to buy a LCD tv and have the Samsung 550 and 650 in mind. The biggest difference between the two that I can tell is that the 650 has 120 mhz and the 550 doesn't. I have read that the 120 mhz comes into play when watching fast action scenes or sports and prevents blurring. My question is, is it really with the extra money and will i notice the difference? Thanks!
Answer:
LCD technology produces two artifacts with on screen motion. 1) Motion Jitter - this is the most obnoxious of the LCD motion artifacts; it produces shaky, jittery trailing edges on moving objects. Best seen with scrolling credits at the end of a movie.2) Motion Blur - stretches the moving object out behind the image, best seen with high contrast between the moving object and the background.120 Hz does a good job with the removal of jitter. 120 Hz does a poor job on the removal of motion blur. In fact, the 120 Hz motion compensation co-processors do not have the processing power to complete their calculations under all live sporting event and movie scenes. They can and often do produce their own artifacts called halo (incomplete background processing) on the trailing side of moving objects. I find halo artifacts to be as obnoxious as jitter and recommend that you turn 120 Hz OFF during a movie, therefore, 120 Hz will be of some limited benefit during sports programs and gaming. Is this feature worth the price and complexity? That is subjective and a decision that only you can make. Come into my shop in Crystal Lake, Il. and I would be more than happy to show you a demonstration of jitter, blur and 120 Hz operation and then you could make-up your own mind as to the effectiveness of 120 Hz. Most of my customers are shocked when they see the truth!

Question : What should I do with a broken Samsung LCD TV?
I have a 40 in. Samsung LCD TV that has a blank picture but sound works. It broke 3 weeks after the 2 year maintenance plan expired :( . I'm afraid this will cost $300-$400 to fix.. I hate to throw something away that visually(outside/not picture) is in great condition and might be fixable. Any suggestions?
Answer:
People don't realize the things they can do with broken TV's. I know some people who make fish tanks, do things with the wires, and I even saw one guy who made a calculator with a recycled TV.I personaly, have no idea what to do with it. But take it apart and see if you can find something you can use! However, if you want to keep it as a TV and see if someone can fix it, ask your local tec-wiz or look up for some people in the phone book. If you look hard, you'll find someone who will be able fo fix it.
